We have a special way of categorizing media in our house. Most people organize movies or videogames in genres, e.g., action, comedy, horror, among others. We use three genres:

• Media that glorifies God
• Media that neither glorifies or tears down God
• Media that does not glorify God

We try hard to discern the media we consume so we only consume the first two genres. In a culture that glorifies content that purposefully does not glorify God, it is hard to find a resource without trying the content first. This could be very expensive, especially with videogames. We purchased our first videogame of 2022 this past week and have been using a heavy eye of discernment while playing it. Upon doing this, we came up with the idea of writing reviews of said media. If we could help one family make a God-glorifying choice, it will be a victory for Christ!

Our videogame reviews will touch briefly upon the game’s graphics, controls, difficulty and fun factor but will mostly focus on the aforementioned aspect of playing it as a Christian.

The first game that we will be reviewing is Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Elden Ring will soon follow. Both games offer 80+ hours of content and met our criteria for hours offered per dollar. As our site states; we focus on Biblical Parenting on a Budget. Both of these games are also popular with children, despite the latter being rated mature. Animal Crossing New Horizons has been out for some time but that have given us a chance to see how it plays each season, as the content adapts seasonally. Elden Ring is a new blockbuster release that is available on multiple consoles and PC. We hope to create more Biblical reviews moving forward. If you have any suggestions please comment them below.
